Meet Our Staff
Larry and Sue Frey, Owners
Larry and Sue Frey have been parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Springfield for over 20 years. They purchased the store in
2007.
Sue is the former parish Coordinator of Religious Education of Sacred Heart, Springfield. In her twenty years of experience, she has prepared retreats, led faith formation sessions, and inspired many young people (and adults) to embrace their faith.
Larry has served on parish council, the fundraising committee, finance committee, and faith formation teams. He is also a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. In the fall of 2006, he left his position as bookkeeper for the parish and began working with DCB, and he is eager to see the store continue its ministry to the Church.
Mat Herrman, Manager
Mat began working at DCB in 2005, after graduating with a MA in Communications from Missouri State University. His work in music ministry, youth ministry, catechesis, and leading youth retreats and workshops has provided him with a wide knowledge of resources.
In addition to his work at De Sales, Mat is a music minister with St. Peter the Apostle parish in Joplin. He also helps out with Catholic Campus Ministry in Springfield.
Nancy Derryberry
Nancy teaches theology at Springfield Catholic High School, and has been active in parish ministries through much of her life. She fills in at De Sales Catholic Bookstore on occasion, and helps us out with some of our out-of-store events.
